Education System in Ghana
Education in Ghana is provided by both the public and private sectors, and it is compulsory for children between the ages of 6 and 14. The education system in Ghana is divided into four levels: basic education, secondary education, vocational education and training, and tertiary education.

Basic education in Ghana covers the first nine years of schooling, and it is made up of Kindergarten, primary and junior high school (JHS). Secondary education is made up of senior high school (SHS) and vocational and technical education. After completing secondary education, students can choose to attend vocational and technical schools, polytechnics or universities.
